Mercedes recalls 1,182 ML, GL class cars sold in Russia

MOSCOW, Feb 19 (PRIME) -- German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has recalled 1,182 ML and GL, Bluetec and 4Matic class cars produced from January 4, 2013 through July 11, 2014 and sold in Russia from March 15, 2014 through August 7, 2015, the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology said in a statement Friday.

A connector of a pipe with a pause heater located in the upper part of the fuel module may have been cut too short in these cars, which may make connection between the pause heater’s pipe and the connector not watertight. This may lead to a leak of fuel onto the upper part of the fuel tank, which in its turn may lead to a fire under certain circumstances, the service said.

The company will carry out the necessary replacement of the fuel module for free, the service said.
